This time I came to Beijing specifically to check in at Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City, and I decided to stay at Crystal Orange Hotel (Beijing Wangfujing Street). After staying there, I realized that I had chosen the right hotel, and there was no need to make complex travel plans in advance. The coverage of surrounding attractions and convenient transportation directly made the travel of tourists to Beijing worry free.
The location of the hotel is really cleverly chosen. It takes only 5 minutes to walk from Exit A of Wangfujing Subway Station, where Line 1 and Line 8 intersect. Just after getting off the high-speed rail, take the subway directly from Beijing South Station without changing lines or wandering around the alleys with your luggage. You can quickly lie down on the hotel bed. Even if you come from the capital airport and take the airport line, transfer to Line 2 and then to Line 1, the whole journey can be direct in one hour, without having to leave two or three hours in advance to catch a flight or a tourist attraction.
After leaving the hotel gate, you will find the auxiliary road of Wangfujing Street. The shared bicycle parking spot at the entrance always has sufficient vehicles. If you don't want to squeeze into the subway, you can scan a car and ride it to the east side of Tiananmen Square in 10 minutes. You don't have to get up at three or four in the morning to catch the train to watch the flag raising ceremony. I have reserved a morning ticket for the Forbidden City this time. It takes me 15 minutes to walk from the hotel to the Meridian Gate, and I leisurely passed by just in time for ticket checking. I was able to avoid most of the crowds queuing up. If you want to clock in at Nanluoguxiang, you can take bus 103 from the bus stop at the entrance without changing, which can be reached directly in 20 minutes. If you don't want to wait for a bus, you can ride a shared bike and get there in 25 minutes. Along the way, you can also take a look at the old Beijing hutongs.
The most surprising thing is the pedestrian circle around the hotel. You don't have to take a car, just a 3-minute walk from Wangfujing Snack Street. If you want to buy some Beijing specialties and souvenirs, just take a stroll downstairs and you can find authentic preserved fruits and Beijing Eight Pieces. Wangfujing Department Store is 8 minutes' walk away. There are milk tea shops, time-honored restaurants and chain supermarkets. If you want to go to the night market at night, you can walk 10 minutes to Donghuamen Food Street. You can smell the smell of boiled meat, fried tripe and fried sauce noodles in old Beijing across half the street. You can stroll back to the hotel late at night without fear of not getting a taxi.
If you don't want to go far, there are several local time-honored restaurants downstairs. When you go out in the morning, you can eat the time-honored fermented sour milk made from ground mung bean wow gold coke circle that has been open for more than ten years. The coke circle is crispy, and fermented sour milk made from ground mung bean wow gold is sour and delicious, which is the taste of old Beijing. If you want to taste authentic copper pot braised pork, you can walk for 5 minutes to a local foodie's hidden restaurant. The taste of hand cut fresh lamb and sesame sauce dipping sauce is ten times more authentic than that of internet famous shops, so you don't have to follow the navigation and wander around the alley for a long time to find something to eat.
I stayed in Beijing for four days and hardly opened the navigation. The places I wanted to go to, such as Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, and Jingshan Park, were either within walking distance or could be reached by taking a direct bus from the hotel. I didn't feel the fatigue of driving around every day when I came to travel. I used to think that when coming to the core area of Beijing to play, I needed to prepare several pages of transportation guides in advance. After staying at Crystal Orange Hotel (Beijing Wangfujing Street), I realized that choosing the right place to stay and not having to brainstorm about route planning, the relaxed feeling of being able to set off with just one foot is the most comfortable way to open up for a vacation in the capital.Show more
